I had an very nice stay at the Alvear Palace Hotel, with beautifully appointed rooms and great service. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring an extensive buffet. While my dining experience at Alvear Grill was fantastic, the New Year's Eve dinner didn't quite live up to expectations. Overall, this hotel exudes charm and luxury in a prime location, but some events may fall short of the hotel's typical excellence.

Breakfast in the stunning conservatory was good, and the Alvear Grill served one of the best meals I had while in Buenos Aires.

I enjoyed the rooftop bar with gorgeous views and a great drink selection, though some dining experiences had room for improvement.

7.4/10

I had a wonderful stay at the Alvear Palace Hotel, which truly embodies luxury in a fantastic location. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, complete with a stunning bathroom that featured a separate tub and shower. However, there were some notable downsides, particularly the absence of tea and coffee-making facilities in the room, which I found quite inconvenient. Overall, my experience was enjoyable, but a few improvements could elevate it even further. 🌟

Rooms

The room was huge with a beautiful design, featuring a king-size bed and an enormous bathroom. However, some areas felt a bit outdated and could use refurbishing.
Service
9.0
Service was really good; the staff was friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with anything I needed, from transportation to dining recommendations.
Location
9.0
The hotel is located in Recoleta, close to many historical sites and museums, making it a great starting point for explorations in Buenos Aires.
Dining

Breakfast offered a nice variety, and while the quality was excellent, I would have preferred more hot protein options beyond just scrambled eggs.
Facilities
8.0
The rooftop pool is a standout feature with stunning views, although the top-floor terrace was not as cozy as I had hoped.

5.8/10

Staying at the Alvear Palace Hotel was a mixed experience for me. While the location is absolutely stunning and perfect for exploring Buenos Aires, I found the service and room quality to be underwhelming. I anticipated more from a place with such a prestigious reputation but felt the hotel didn't quite deliver on that front. Overall, I might consider trying a boutique hotel for my next visit. 🌆😞

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was quite spacious, but it felt dated and lacked the comfort I expected. I also noticed musty air and some noise from outside, which made it difficult to relax.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, I found the staff to be rather aloof and unhelpful most of the time. A couple of interactions I had left me feeling like I was bothering them rather than receiving hospitality.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location in the Recoleta area is fantastic, as it allows easy access to several main attractions which I thoroughly enjoyed exploring.
Dining
5.0
I was disappointed with the breakfast options; they were quite limited and I was surprised to be charged extra for eggs. The room service was also below expectations, with food that was often cold and overcooked.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel had some charm and elegance, the facilities felt lackluster. The indoor pool was small and the gym had safety issues that made me wary.

My stay at the Alvear Palace Hotel was a mixed bag. The service was excellent, and the rooftop bar was a fantastic spot for people-watching. However, the room felt outdated, and I was surprised by a few service inconsistencies that put a damper on things.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious but definitely showed signs of wear and tear. The plumbing was decorative yet strange, which was a bit off-putting. Housekeeping was hit or miss; one day they showed up at nine, and the next it was after four pm.
Service
8.0
The staff were mostly attentive and professional, really going above and beyond to meet my needs. The concierge helped me with restaurant bookings and even secured tickets for a tango show, which was fab.
Location
7.0
The hotel is in Recoleta, which is great for exploring nearby sights. However, I found the area a bit boring compared to other districts like Palermo or Puerto Madero, which offer livelier options.
Dining
9.0
Dining at the hotel was a highlight, especially the breakfast buffet staffed by lovely people. The rooftop bar is also a must-visit for its lively atmosphere and delicious cocktails.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were decent, but certain areas like the gym felt a bit sketchy, especially with loose floors. The pool was small and not inviting, which left me wanting a bit more from the hotel's amenities.

I had a great stay at the Alvear Palace Hotel, but it wasn't without its hiccups. The stunning ambiance and elegant decor definitely stood out, alongside the friendly staff. However, I faced a rough check-in experience that could use some serious improvement. Overall, I really enjoyed my time, especially with the fabulous room and facilities, but there's definitely room for growth.

Rooms
8.0
The room was absolutely stylish and elegant, complete with a comfy king-size bed and efficient air-conditioning. I loved the charm of the bathroom, even if it could use some updates.
Service
6.0
While some staff members were super friendly and attentive, the check-in process was surprisingly slow and a bit frustrating. It felt more efficient at other times, but my experience was a mixed bag.
Location
9.0
The location is prime, right in the heart of Recoleta, close to parks, shopping centers, and cultural spots. It was easy to stroll around and feel safe exploring the area.
Dining
7.0
Dining at the hotel was quite good, especially the Grill restaurant for dinner, though breakfast could have offered a bit more variety. I had pleasant meals but expected more options.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel had amazing facilities, including a large fitness area and a lovely indoor pool. However, I felt the pool area could have been more inviting. Still, everything was well kept.
